I am. . .
a daughter, the oldest of four, a life in the country riding horses all day, and a heart for animals.
the first child to drive, the first to get a job, a friend and sister, loving and kind, and loyal to the end.
a granddaughter, a falling sunset, an Autumn breeze, a hard worker, a rider, an adventure.
a plaid shirt, a pair of cowboy boots, denim jeans, a dolphin necklace, a woven straw cowboy hat.
a shy little girl, a group of friends, loved and happy, and blind to the real world around her.
I am. . .
a KHS student, a junior, 16 years old, a best friend, a learner and an achiever.
a worker at Party City, a stocker, a helper, a listener, a customer, a straightener.
a dreamer, an adventurer, the smell of salt water at the beach, the squishy sand beneath my feet, children screaming and laughing, shimmering ocean water flowing in waves, the taste of sour salt water as it washes over me, Florida.
hats that hold memories, pins and merchandise from vacations, the photos taken of fun and laughter, a journey.
sticky popsicles and creamy ice cream, the sweet smell of flowers and sun, the cooling splash of pool water.
I am. . .
blue-grey eyes, long dirty blonde hair, a loving smile, a replica of my mother.
a fisher, a shooter, a strong arm, a night owl, long curly hair, shy just like my father.
a book without an ending, a story still to be told, a child of God, a believer, a cross.
unique, different, a stand out in the crowd, a voice, faith, hopeful that cruelty will come to an end, confident, courageous.
a childhood blanket, an Autism pin, my dad’s dragon, Apollo’s box, “An Irish Blessing”.
Taylor Nichole Duffey, daughter of James and Leslie.
I love this, Nichole! Thanks for sharing a bit of who you are here. I can relate to much of your first section in that I am the oldest sister, too, and so much of my childhood is wrapped up in my grandparents' house and their horses and my grandpa's plaid shirts and cowboy boots. I miss them so. I love that you are a dreamer and a hard worker and an achiever, and like you, I am so "hopeful that cruelty will come to an end."
ReplyDeleteHey Nichole! I can relate to the part about screaming and laughing kids in Florida. I went there last summer with my sister's family :)
ReplyDeleteI don't really like the beach but I can appreciate that you like them :)
